A magnitude 4.8 earthquake shook the northeastern United States on Friday morning.

The earthquake was felt from Boston all the way down to Baltimore at 10:23 a.m. ET, in keeping with the U.S. Geological Survey.

Many incoming flights on the three main airports in and proper outdoors York Metropolis have been being diverted from touchdown due to the quake, in keeping with the Federal Aviation Administration. Airplanes have been grounded by the FAA at JFK Airport in Queens, New York, and Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey.

The epicenter of the quake was detected about 45 miles west of New York Metropolis, and 40 miles east of Allentown, Pennsylvania, in an space northeast of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, in keeping with the USGS.

The Nationwide Tsunami Warning Heart mentioned there was no hazard of a tsunami on the east coast after the quake.
